Due to inherent patient-by-patient variability, microbiome metabolomics also benefits from large-cohort sizes. GMet has provided both murine and human fecal microbiome analysis services for both small scale and large cohort gut microbiome analysis studies. Cellular metabolism plays an even larger role in microbial physiology than it does in mammalian species. As a result, targeted and untargeted metabolomics and lipidomics provide essential insight into the state of the microbiome.
