Metabolism responds when genes vary or drug targets are engaged – even when those targets are not part of the metabolic network — providing insight into the mechanism of response and adaptation at the most basic level, characterizing the drug mechanism of action. By starting with GMet’s broad, untargeted metabolomics tools, mechanism of action studies can quickly progress to targeted validation of pathway level effects using LCMS/MS metabolomics, linking drugs and genes to interpretable biology.
